Alabama Orange Beach Point
The Alabama point offers long boardwalks and is one of the most scenic areas on the coast to walk out to.
its a great place with beautiful beaches and a wonderful place for many family sessions. But it is a long walk out and for some people it may be too far of a walk for them. Some older people with any walking problems this would not be the best location. You have to walk down a long boardwalk and then walk even more in the sand to get down to the waters edge.

Gulf State Park Park
The Gulf State Park is located in Gulf Shores. It's right at the line between the two towns so very easy to get to. It offers a unique spot for beach photos. The park has plenty of parking and in the areas we photography in they are less of a walk out making it more easy for many people to enjoy. This a highly recommend location. It's a mix of natural beauty and architectural charm.

Here Are Two YouTube Videos We Created To Show Two Popular Photography Areas
First is the Gulf State Park right at the edge of the Gulf Shores town line. In the YouTube video you can tour the park and see why it is a very popular family portrait location. Second is the Alabama point we also call the Orange beach point. This is the area that has the long boardwalk walking out to the beach area. We also show the restaurants on each side of the bridge. Both are State Parks and we have the shooting permit required to work in each area. You can pick one of the two locations or if you are at a rented beach house we can come right to your location. We provide photography service at beach homes and condos all the time.

Booking a photo session with us in Orange Beach, AL, is easy. Our sessions last 45 to 60 minutes. We take many photos to give you lots of choices for your final image gallery.
To book your family photographer, a $200 non-refundable retainer is needed. You can make that payment on our website or call it in. The rest of the payment is due before or on your session day.
- Most portrait sessions end up with: 75 to 100 or more edited images based on the group size.
- We give you full print rights for your photos.
After your session, we pick and edit the best photos. Then, you get the high-quality high resolution digital files to print and share.
Professional Photo Editing

In the gallery the images will have a water mark on them but when you download the files you get the high resolution files with no watermarking on them. We have lived and worked on the Emerald cost providing family beach portraits for going on 25 years.
As one of the original Orange Beach family photography services we created many of the family group poses you see used. Not only from us but the many that try and copy us. Ed perfected using off camera flash to create bright clear images and great exposures even shooting into the sun long before most of the other photographers in the area even start shooting.

We serve Orange Beach on the Gulf Coast beaches. The Alabama point, at beach homes or condos and at the Gulf State park.
When is the best time for an Orange Beach photo session?
The best times for a sessions at are sunrise and sunset for soft natural light. For us we only shoot at sunset starting one hour before sunset. We edit photos every night after the job so we do not offer sunrise sessions. Sunset works out much better as you shoot into the sunset as it gets cooler out and the sunset is more colurfull.
How long does a typical beach portrait session last?
Sessions usually last about 45 to 60 minutes. This lets us get both posed and candid shots. Plenty of time to cover large extended family reunion photos.
What types of Family Beach photography services do you offer?
We do family beach photography, senior portraits, engagement shots, maternity sessions, children's photography, and small wedding photography and wedding day coverage. We also do real estate photography like home and condo photos for rentals or sales.
What should we wear for our beach photo session?
Wear comfortable, coordinating outfits in beachy colors. White tops go great with blue jeans or khaki pants. Choose colors that complement each other well in the beach setting. Avoid bright colors like bright red, orange, yellows lime green as the sun will light them up over bright in the photos. it's good to stay with earth tones, blacks and browns also look good and sage green. More earth tone reds, orange and yellow do work well too.
How do I book a Family Beach session with Orange Beach Family Portraits?
Book online through our website or call us at 352-232-9112. We offer personalized service and more information. Do not book your date on-line till you call us first to make sure your date is still open. We book up a lot in advance and we only shoot one session a day at sunset the best time.
Can we bring props for our photo sessions?
Yes you can bring props. Things like hats, jackets, toys for kids.
How long does it take to receive our photos after the session?
We are Fast - As your family photographer We edit photos every night after the session that day. You can expect to see your photos with in 24 to 48 hours posted in a on-line gallery we create for you. Donna will send you a text the next day with your gallery link and password to your gallery.
Advanced Off Camera Flash
We use off camera flash when needed so we can achieve better exposures for your photos.
This brings out the better beach, sky and water colors. This also lets us shoot into the sunset to get the amazing sunset colors.
This kind of shooting can't be done by shooting natural light only. On many days for beach photos we need to use flash to create the best portraits. We do shoot natural light on the days when that is best. Most Beach session we shoot a mix of both as needed.
Natural Light Beach Photography We Capture Every Moment…
Yes we do shoot natural light but only when it is right to do so.
Many Days on the beach in the sun shooting natural light it is not the best way to shoot. Due to the suns brightness and the wind direction. It may be impossible to get a good exposure shooting natural light. Also on very over cast days shooting natural light produces very dull looking images.
When the sun is right we will shoot natural light but the sun changes as we are shooting and we may end up using flash for part or all of the session. Some days we may use flash on the full session to get the best color and exposure on the beach something a natural light only photographer can not do.

We shoot many times 7 days a week in summer so we edit photos every night after each job. Your photos will be edited and posted on-line with in 24 to 48 hours after you family photo session.
